zazen in the heat

.
You'd think that heat, with all the blessings and disasters it dispenses, might make some noise, toot its horn, don some medals of accomplishment.

But instead, it's silent.

Confident as a fire hydrant and silent.

During zazen this morning, the heat came on like some lazy-easy companion.

I sweat.

The heat was not impressed.

And, after a while, neither was I.
