par-tay! the running of the bulls

.
In Pamplona, Spain, it is that time of year again and enthusiastic crowds are gearing up for the running of the bulls ... an activity in which young men and women try to outrun and outwit a herd of on-coming, 1,000-poud-plus bulls.

The festival is held in honor of San Fermin, the patron saint of Pamplona. Fifteen people have been killed since record-keeping began in 1924.

I guess incongruity lies in the eye of the beholder and I have to admit that I find something incongruous about this jolly, dangerous activity in a world full of other concerns.

Is there ever or was there ever really an "other concern?"

Perhaps not, but I can't stop the word from rising in my mind ... "weird."

And, in another 'bizarre' turn of events, residents of Los Angeles County will get to vote on whether porn actors should be required to wear condoms.

Porn is not the question. Safe-sex porn is.
